The Danes are buying property abroad and the interest is considerable
The mood on the property market has changed in 2011, and Danish purchasers are showing great interest in the many attractive holiday homes available in countries like Spain, Italy, France, Turkey, Thailand, Greece, Cyprus, Portugal, Bulgaria, Egypt, Germany, USA and Austria etc.
Low property prices abroad, an historically low interest rate and tax reductions mean that the sum of money that Danes have at their disposal has never been greater. The demand is considerable, and Danes eager to buy or invest in properties abroad.
At our fair in September 2011 there was clear evidence and interest has continued to increase. 26 % of the audience plan to pay cash for their pruchase, 73 % plan to buy within the next 24 months, keen to advantage of the strong Krona and low prices in many holiday home destinations. Massive TV Coverage
The Danish national TV station DR will broadcast two new programs called "Auctioneer’s Hammer" on 21st and 28th February both focusing on buying properties in Spain. Each program has between 800,000 and 900,000 viewers.
In January and February 2012, TV3 will be looking at buying properties abroad. The title will be “Two properties – one price”.
In each programme, TV3 will visit two different countries. For example, they’ll look at one property in France (Provence) and one in Italy (Toscany). What can you get in France and what can you get in Italy for the same price? First they’ll look at a medium range property and then at an exclusive property.
Other countries in the program series: Thailand (Hua Hin og Pattaya) v USA(Orlando, Florida), Spain(Costa del Sol) v Turkey (Alanya), Sweden (Smaaland) v Germany(Berlin), Croatia v Portugal (Algarve), Austria (Bad Gastein) v Spain (Gran Canaria).
The timing couldn’t be better in relation to the Homes Abroad trade fair which will be held on 24th and 25th March in the Virum Halls, Denmark. Television is a very powerful medium and there’s no doubt that it will bring in even more Danes to the market and attract more visitors to the event at the Virum Halls.
